OPENING OF THE SKY DOOR

Online Chod empowerment transmission

This is the foundational empowerment, the entry to Kagyu, Nyingma forms of Chod. The wongkur will be given wholly in English, with slides and detailed instruction fo the visualization and best internal state in order to fully receive the spiritual-energetic transmission. The text we use is from the cycle of the Precious Rosary of Cho, collated by the 3rd Karmapa from all existing prior texts, and re-edited by Karma Chakmé. Thus it can be considered the earliest of such rituals, and directly from MaChik and her school.

Participants will receive the full translated text so they can follow along as they wish, as well as a copy of the necessary pre- and post-empowerment prayers. There will be a talk before discussing both the meaning of empowerment and cho will be followed by a Q & A for those who require it; Otherwise, taking time to absorb the experience is recommended. Note that in spite of a fully traditional context, the discussion will be based on direct personal experience and being, and so will bring in various eclectic or "non-traditional" explanations. Dharma over dogma. Internal truth over external fabrications. Which is the core of Chod in reality.

This will be a portal directly to the blessing stream from the ancient Chod lineage and its inconceivable power. All participants should approach this with the core intent of benefitting sentient beings in this and future lives, while also caring for their own welfare and fulfiling their life destiny.

The wong is free for those that are currently or in the past enrolled in the School of Tibetan Healing Cho, and otherwise a donation of $60 is asked.
